2026 Asia Fastmarkets FerroAlloys Conference

Wed, May 20, 2026, 2:36 PM Manganese Market

CEO Brad Rogers recently attended the Fastmarkets Asia FerroAlloys 2026 conference, where he moderated a panel discussion examining the evolving outlook for global manganese markets.

Joining Brad on the panel were Edward Li, CEO of the Qunxian Group, Laurent Montcoutie, Executive Director of the International Manganese Institute and Justin Brown, Managing Director of Element 25. The discussion explored how supply-side pressures, shifting consumption trends and the demand from the emerging battery sector are reshaping the manganese market, following several years of subdued conditions.

Reflecting on the current market backdrop, Brad noted that manganese ore demand growth has remained relatively flat since 2021, with pricing largely influenced by supplier cost pressures, rather than underlying demand growth.

Despite these market conditions, the world-class Tshipi manganese mine has had an unbroken record of delivering strong cashflows and dividends to shareholders, underpinned by reliable production and a globally competitive cost base.

The panel also discussed how emerging supply and demand dynamics are beginning to provide increasing pricing support for manganese markets.

As one of the world’s largest and lowest-cost manganese operations, Tshipi remains well positioned to reliably deliver throughout market cycles, with more than 100 years of remaining mine life.
